Show + Sale Volunteer Coordinator

Reporting to the show + sale coordinator, the show + sale volunteer coordinator will support the recruitment, scheduling, training and leadership of all volunteers for the Students’ Association’s Show + Sale in late November. The volunteer coordinator will ensure that all aspects of volunteer management are carried out in an efficient and professional manner to support the operations of Show + Sale. Each sale involves managing a roster of approximately 150 volunteers.

Employment Type: Part-time, hourly wage (approx. 15-20 hours per week; workload expected to increase during peak Show + Sale times)
Contract Length: October – December 2022
Hourly Pay Range: $15 to $18 per hour depending on experience

Core Objectives:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the volunteer roster
  • Maintain volunteer schedule, track attendance and provide training
  • Function as the primary contact for all volunteers and SA personnel regarding volunteering
  • Support inventory management during peak periods
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Show + Sale

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience with Show + Sale or volunteer management considered an asset.
  • Time management and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Ability to take initiative in coordinating and carrying out assigned projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work collaboratively with the Show + Sale team, Show + Sale students and the general public.
  • Ability to work equitably with all students and provide support as and when required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite and one or more volunteer management software.
