Archived June 4, 2018 Slam Intensive for Youth This special week-long summer intensive is for youth, aged 15 to 19, who are interested in poetry, spoken word, and slam. Participants will have the opportunity to work with Poet Laureate Sheri-D Wilson, plus Audrey Lane Cockett and Tyler Perry. Youth will be encouraged to explore the world, and themselves. We will focus on both writing and performance skills through a series of games, exercises, prompts, and one-on-one direction. This journey will guide, inspire, and build confidence. At the end, each participant will have the skills to create and perform their own works! On July 27, 2018, at 4:00pm, students will share their work with parents and invited guests.
