Weekend/Evening Drama Classes

Playful Drama

Ages: 6-8
Location: Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Mondays, 4:30 – 5:30pm, April 12 – June 21, 2021 (no class on May 24)
Fee: $125 ($100 discounted)

This course is a great introduction to the drama basics, and covers a variety of topics including: story-telling, character, sharing, movement, and theatre games. This is a wonderful way to help your child explore their imagination, learn new skills, and have fun! No experience required!

Creation in Motion

Ages: 9-12
Location:Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Sundays, 10:00am – 12:00pm, April 11 – June 20, 2021 (no class on May 23)
Fee: $250 ($225 discounted)

Explore storytelling and harness imagination through physicality. Creation in Motion will encourage creative expression through movement, choreography, mime, balance, staging, and mask. Students will learn about teamwork, gain self-confidence, and be physically active, all within a safe and engaging environment. No previous experience is required!

Theatre Arts Exploration

Ages: 9-12
Location: Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Saturdays, 10:00am – 12:00pm, April 10 – June 19, 2021 (no class on May 22)
Class Fee: $250 ($225 Discounted)

This course is an all-inclusive exploration of the theatre arts. Students will be encouraged to discover a variety of dramatic techniques such as character creation, improvisation, movement, Shakespeare, scene study, and more! Have a blast creating and performing an original final presentation for friends and family. Previous theatre arts exploration or other drama class experience encouraged.

Improv for Teens

Ages: 13-17
Location: Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Mondays, 6:00 – 8:00pm, April 12 – June 21, 2021 (no class on May 24)
Class Fee: $325 ($300 Discounted)

Improv is a great way to have fun and explore while bolstering creativity, adaptability, team work, and confidence. This course includes lessons in theatresports, character development, story-telling, and many favourite improvisation games. Be inspired to think outside the box, learn something new, and have fun! Previous improvisation class experience encouraged.

Homeschool/Preschool Drama Classes

Tales and Tumble

Ages: 3-5
Location: Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)

This course is designed to get your wee ones moving, playing, creating, and having fun! We will cover a variety of topics including: storytelling, dance, yoga, and theatre games.

Ready. Set. Act

Ages: 6-8

This course allows participants to explore their creativity and imagination by learning the basics of theatre. We will cover a variety of topics including: story-telling, character, movement, and theatre games.

Theatre FUNdamentals

Ages: 9-12

Dates: Tuesdays, 10:00am – 12:00pm, April 13 – June 15, 2021

All The Worlds A Stage

Ages: 13-17
Location: Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Tuesdays, 1:00 – 3:00pm, April 13 – June 15, 2021

This course is designed to give young performers a deeper understanding into the world of Shakespeare. Using one play of study, participants will learn about the famous bard as it should be experienced—through performance!

Online Drama Classes and Workshops

Story & Stretch

Ages: 7-12
Location: Zoom
Dates: Wednesdays, 10:30 – 11:30am, April 14 – June 16, 2021
Class Fee: $ 125

This course is designed with your active creators in mind. Using a variety of different methods such as yoga and storytelling, this is a wonderful way for your child to start their day and explore their creative, physical selves.

The Next Stage

Ages: 13-17
Location: Zoom
Dates: Saturdays, 1:00 – 2:30pm, April 10 – June 19, 2021 (no class on May 22)

Want to learn more about what it takes to make it in theatre and film? This class provides the opportunity for teens to learn the ins and outs of the profession theatre, film, and television world. Learn the tricks of the trade when it comes to auditioning for both stage and screen, and learn advanced acting techniques to prepare you for the profession. Previous drama class experience is encouraged.

New – Theatre Workshop Series

Ages: 7-12

Join the Pumphouse Theatre for our newest adventure into virtual education—online workshops! Twice a month from March to June, we will be offering a variety of 75 minute workshops for students aged seven to 12. These workshops will contain fun drama activities focused on either acting, voice, movement, or crafting.

Registration will be open until one week prior to the scheduled workshop date. All necessary workshop supplies will be provided, and are available for pick up or delivered to your door. See our full workshop schedule below and sign up today!

All courses will adhere to all COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

All courses, with the exception of our customized programs and workshops, are 10 weeks in length.

All in-person classes will take place at the Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave SW) when protocols allow.

Classes may be alternatively conducted online.

Register for classes before March 15, and receive our early bird discount of $25 off. Register two or more members of the same immediate family and receive our multi-child discount of $25 off.
