Springboard Performance is hiring a marketing and communications coordinator.

The marketing and communications coordinator connects Springboard, affiliated artists, and programming to audiences throughout the year. In addition to developing and creating a marketing strategy, the marketing and communications manager will work to raise the profile of Springboard Performance through pursuing and maintaining strong outreach-based relationships with companies, organizations, and individuals. This position works closely with both Springboard’s internal staff and contracted artists, companies, and venues in order to engage patrons, deepen audience experience and understanding, and raise awareness of Springboard Performance and its diverse arms of operation.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategies:

  • Developing marketing strategy and overseeing development and implementation of print and digital marketing assets for all Springboard Performance activity.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create and schedule all social media content on Springboard social channels.
  • Assembling and sharing content resources with the Springboard operations team to facilitate production and execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Writing, editing, and proofreading program marketing copy for print and web calendar, advertising copy, print collateral, and other pieces as needed.
  • Creating visual marketing materials including graphics and digital invites as needed.
  • Creating and sending out regular newsletters through Mailchimp including tracking analytics and sending out regular surveys to Springboard networks.
  • Managing and supervising schedules and timetables around marketing and external communications.
  • Cultivating relationships with online audience, sponsors, and partners.

Sponsor and Donor Development:

  • Develop and implement plans for sponsors at a variety of levels, including scheduling and follow-up; Create a sponsorship package.
  • Seek new sponsors (media/advertising/programming/general support) and meet with potentials to outline what services they would value most including both cash and in-kind support/product from different corporations and foundations.
  • Implement fundraising strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts, expanding current fundraising efforts and increasing financial support.
  • Managing and fostering a relationship with donors, including thank you correspondence.
  • Request tax receipts from financial manager.
  • Record Keeping: Maintains records and contacts of sponsors for future.

Qualifications

  • An understanding of Springboard Performance and its place in local, national, and international dance and live performance ecologies.
  • A strong understanding of developing creative and innovative marketing strategies to support audience development and promotional objectives.
  • Three+ years running social media marketing and experience in our key platforms (Facebook and Instagram) including content distribution and paid advertising.
  • Experience in arts management in the non-profit sector, particularly in marketing and publicity.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and advocacy skills including proofreading, editing, and visual storytelling.
  • Understanding of live performance production schedules and timelines.
  • The ability to learn quickly, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a high level of adaptability.
  • The ability to balance independent and team-based work, and to balance multiple priorities.
  • A strong desire to connect with our local community.
  • Graphic design, photography, and/or video editing skills are big assets to bring to the table.

Additional Details

  • This is a part-time 20 to 25 hours/week contract position beginning September 1, 2021 (or sooner based on availability).
  • $20 to $26/hourly rate based on experience.
  • Must have regular access to a computer and the internet. If this is a barrier, please inform us during the interview process.
  • This is currently a work from home and/or access to our office space at cSPACE King Eward position with flexible hours.
  • A commitment of a minimum of six hours per week will be spent online for co-working hours at a predetermined time, as established during your hiring and onboarding process.
