Like other educational institutions in Alberta, we have decided to postpone all courses and events until further notice. Although our studio is small in numbers and has lots of physical space, we feel it is very important that everyone does their part to protect the health and safety of our community.

Level: New artists (some experience) to advanced

Students will work in oil (or acrylic).

Special emphasis will be placed on designing and setting up a still life using massing, abstract visual ideas, concepts, paint quality, exercises and the fundamentals: shape, value, edges and colour.

All classes will be from life. The first three to four weeks focusing on fruit, vases and the final weeks focusing on the floral. Each class will begin with an oil painting demo.

This course is an excellent springboard to the figure and portrait painting courses, for both new and experienced painters who want to take their work to a higher level.

Registrants will receive course supply list including still life objects.
