Call for Submissions May 12, 2023 Stranger Fest 2024 Theatre Encounter is pleased to announce Stranger Fest 2024: A week-long arts event for styles outside of realism.The inaugural Stranger Fest will take place March 18-23, 2024 at cSpace Marda Loop. We invite submissions from artists, companies and collectives to accompany us by presenting work in one of two venues: the Abattoir Studio, and the main floor cSpace hallway gallery. Information on the venues can be seen here. Stranger is a showcase of non-Realistic, non-Naturalistic performance and art. Presented works may explore Expressionism, Surrealism, Impressionism, Absurdism, Symbolism, abstract, experimental, non-narrative, and other approaches outside of mainstream presentation. Submissions from all artistic disciplines are welcome. Submitted works may be complete or in development. If you are proposing a new work or a work in development, it must be ready for presentation by March 2024. In your application, please give us a sense of your artistic practice, your approach and how you envision the work will be presented. Presented artists will receive venue support, rehearsal space, marketing, box office support, honoraria and/or 100% of ticket sales to their event(s).
