Stride Gallery is accepting submissions for the Main Space from December 15, 2018 to January 31, 2019. Proposals received by 5:00pm MST on Thursday, January 31, 2019 will be considered for 2020 and 2021 programming. Artists are encouraged to follow the online submission guidelines and to email their submission package in ZIP format to submissions@stride.ab.ca with the subject line ATTN: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS JANUARY 2019. Faxed, mailed or incomplete submissions will not be reviewed. Stride’s Main Space occupies two connected storefronts. As a heritage building, the space features 15-ft tin tile ceiling and hardwood floors. Stride also supports offsite projects that involve the production and dissemination of contemporary art outside the context of a formal gallery space. These projects are assessed and programmed on a case-by-case basis, dependent upon available resources. Please refer to the website to learn about Stride’s mandate and exhibition history. Submission package must include all the following items in a single ZIP file labelled with the artists last and then first name (lastname_firstname.zip). Submission packages that do not follow these guidelines will not be considered by the Programming Committee. Successful applications will be notified by or before May 2019. Required Materials Project Proposal: Clearly communicate your intentions for the exhibition at Stride Gallery. Must be formatted as a PDF (maximum one page). Artist Statement: Must be formatted as a PDF (maximum one page). Curriculum Vitae: Please include your most current and relevant education and exhibition history as well as accurate contact information. Must be formatted as a PDF (maximum two pages). For collaborative and group projects please submit one CV per artist. Visual Support Material: A maximum of 10 images. Please include recent documentation or visuals that are relevant to the proposed exhibition. Images should be in JPEG format and no larger than 1MB each in size. If audio or video documentation is necessary for your proposal please include a valid URL link with a maximum of five minutes running time. Visual Support Inventory: A list of visual support material with corresponding file names and relevant information regarding title, media, size, and date. Must be formatted as a PDF. All of these materials must be compressed into a single ZIP file labelled with the artist’s last and first name.
