The 6 Performance Academy provides comprehensive and rigorous training in theatre, film, television, and voice-over performance offering a wide variety of classes and workshops for actors of every age.
Award-winning industry professionals use years of experience on-set, on-stage, and on-mic, to engage with small groups of actors in individualized, feedback-style instruction and critique, while pushing performances and careers forward using the natural strengths, abilities, and instincts of each student.
With a focus on technique, readiness, and specificity, actors are challenged to be well versed and adept at many performance styles in an effort to find their personal approach to the work, and to reach their performance potential.
Commercial VO
In this three-session, online workshop participants will explore an actor’s approach to voice-over. Working on both single announcer and character commercial scripts, the focus will be on audition techniques, script analysis, and specificity of the VO medium. Participants will learn industry trends in the current commercial climate and hear insights into their own performances from their peers and industry professionals. Class size is kept to a minimum to ensure all performers receive ample mic time and the benefit of comprehensive one-on-one instruction in our state of the art studio.

TV/Film Self-Recording Audition Workshop
With Chantal Perron
This three-hour online workshop, with follow-up work, offers actors the opportunity to learn the skills needed to complete a self-taped audition for submission to a project. Our current industry circumstance calls upon performers to take responsibility for using/learning technology to lessen contact. Practising simplicity, specificity, stamina and stillness, in our scene work and in our self-tape approach.
A portion of time is allotted to questions and a self-tape homework opportunity exists in which, we give you a scene for self-tape, you submit it to 6 and receive valuable feedback and insight into their performance and tape essentials from peers and industry professionals and gain practical experience to help develop the confidence and skills to be successful in any audition room, including your own.
