StoryBook Theatre is currently seeking teachers and teaching assistants for our theatre school PD day camps in Airdrie. We are looking for experienced drama teachers and professional artists to instruct children ages six to 12. Assistants will support instructors during all classes and performances/presentations.

Contract Hours

Airdrie Public School Dates:

  • Friday, February 15, 2019
  • Monday, March 18, 2019
  • Friday, May 17, 2019

Airdrie Catholic School Dates:

  • Friday, January 25, 2019
  • Friday, March 15, 2019
  • Tuesday, April 23, 2019

Operating Hours: Day/week camps run 8:00am – 5:00pm
Location: The Elements Dance Co. (3109, 109 Gateway Dr. NE, Airdrie)

Skills & Qualifications – Teachers:

  • Bachelor’s degree in drama and/or education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum two years teaching or directing experience.
  • Must have a passion for sharing theatre with young artists.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • High level of personal organization and planning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must work well in a team setting.
  • Knowledge of technical theatre is an asset.
  • Basic first aid is an asset.
  • Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check.

Skills & Qualifications – Teaching Assistants:

  • Interest in arts education.
  • Must have a passion for sharing theatre with young artists.
  • Experience working with children.
