This free, four-hour, introductory course is geared towards emerging theatre technicians looking to further their knowledge of audio, and towards established technicians looking to build a new skill set. The course will cover gain, volume and signal path; and will then explore microphones, speakers and frequencies. The second half of the class will include hands-on training in patching, creating and killing feedback, and building effects. Who Should Apply? This workshop is designed for those looking to expand into a new field of work and will serve as an introduction to the basics of working an audio call. Recent graduates of a college or university tech program, senior high-school students interested in pursuing sound in live events, and established technicians looking to expand their skill set are all welcome.
