The GRAND is a theatre, an events space and a cultural hub located in downtown Calgary. We host contemporary live theatre, dance, and musical performances, as well as corporate and cultural events, public gatherings and workshops.

Currently, we are hiring a box office manager to set up event ticketing, manage the front of house staff schedule and organize ticket sales reports. We are looking for someone who is available during the daytime 10:00 am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Ideal start date would be July 2, 2019.

In terms of skill, the job demands:

  • A logistical mind.
  • Proficiency with software (Excel, scheduling, ticketing).
  • Excellent communication skills.

The box office manager acts as the front face of our theatre and is one of our greatest ambassadors. They manage event information, ticket sales and communicate with the team to ensure organized thoughtful and exceptional customer service.

This entails but is not limited to:

  • Scheduling front of house staff for events, creating event sheets and clearly communicating to ensure the team is well prepared.
  • Receiving and directing guests by phone and in person, and communicating the importance of upcoming programming, the building’s history and the brand of the theatre.
  • Working directly with clients to set up ticketing for their events. Coordinating between the venue and rental client to establish the appropriate seating configuration, ticket price and box office set up for each event.
  • Record keeping and organizing ticket sales reports.
  • Assisting with the on-boarding and training of new front of house staff. Providing them with tools and guidance in order to ensure an excellent customer service experience.
  • Processing payroll for all front of house and box office staff.
