Experimental Performance Opportunity

Are you a composer, musician, dancer, electronic artist, interdisciplinary artist, improviser? Have you been developing and working on an innovative concept, composition, idea, plan? Looking for a stage, a performance space to try it out? Seeking an opportunity to present it to a receptive, inquisitive audience?
New Works Calgary invites you to send a proposal for a chance to have a “spot” for your performance on the New Works Calgary 35th Anniversary Season: CRiSSCRoSS and CoNFLueNCe!
Successful works will be:
- A maximum duration of 10 minutes.
- A maximum of three performers of any artistic discipline.
- For which you can provide the required instrument(s), gear, accessories.
New Works Calgary will program your performance as part of a concert event on February 3, 2019, at Festival Hall or March 7, 2019, at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, provide logistic and promotional support, and a $250 honorarium for your performance.
Submissions should be emailed to info@neworkscalgary.com by no later than December 15, 2018.
Include the following information:
- Biographies for all performers and creators.
- Artist statement (500 words).
- Concept and project statement (1,000 words).
- Technical requirements.
- Contact information.
Locations: Festival Hall, or St. Stephen’s Anglican Church
