Theatre School Teachers & Teaching Assistants

StoryBook Theatre is currently seeking teachers and teaching assistants for our theatre school programming. We are looking for experienced drama teachers and professional artists to instruct children ages six to 18. Assistants will support instructors during all classes and performances/presentations.

Classes

ACT UP! – Acting Fundamentals
Let’s Create a Play – Play Creation
Musical Theatre – Acting, Voice, and Dance
Winter/Spring Break Camps – Week-long Theatre Camps
PD Day Camps – Theatre Day Camps

Contract Dates

Fall: September 22 to December 3, 2018
Winter: January 5 to March 16, 2019
Spring: March 24 to June 15, 2019

Operating Hours

ACT UP! & Let’s Create a Play – Saturdays from 10:00am to 12:00pm
Musical Theatre for Teens – Sundays from 1:30pm to 4:30pm
Musical Theatre for Adults – Sundays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Day/Week Camps – 8:00am to 5:00pm

Skills & Qualifications – Teachers
  • Bachelor’s degree in drama and/or education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum two years teaching or directing experience.
  • Must have a passion for sharing theatre with young artists.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • High level of personal organization and planning.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills.
  • Must work well in a team setting.
  • Knowledge of technical theatre is an asset.
  • Basic first aid is an asset.
  • Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check.
Skills & Qualifications – Teaching Assistants
