Archived April 3, 2018 Visual Arts Instructor Wildflower and North Mount Pleasant Arts Centres are looking for experienced Visual Arts Instructors who can teach a variety of visual arts courses, specializing in ceramics, drawing, painting, cartooning, sculpture and printmaking for preschoolers, children, youth and adults. Under supervision, instructors are responsible for the design, planning, and instruction of visual arts programs. As an experienced Visual Arts Instructor you will teach a variety of visual art courses, specializing in ceramics, drawing, painting, cartooning, and two- and three-dimensional media for preschoolers, children, youth, and adults. Under supervision, instructors are responsible for the design, plan, and instruction of visual arts programs. Primary duties include: Teach specific skills to participants through progressive development and sharing of knowledge. Develop course outline, lesson plan and resources (based on named learning goals and outcomes). Keep program records and help with program evaluation. Provide safety expertise and ensure the well-being of participants. Prepare and maintain program equipment, supplies, and facilities. Display a high degree of customer service. Provide coaching and direction to volunteers when required. Qualifications: Be at least 18 years of age or older. Minimum of one year of instructional experience working with preschoolers, children, youth and/or adults. A minimum of two years post-secondary fine arts education and/or relevant certification. Must have knowledge in a specific program field (ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, and cartooning, two- and three-dimensional media). Current Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) level “C” certifications. Possess a clear Criminal Records Check would be considered an asset. Date of completion must be within the last 12 months. You will have strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to be flexible and aware of customer needs.
