Vitreography Class

At Alberta Printmakers, August 7 and 14, 2016

This two-day intensive course will introduce students to vitreography—the process of pulling prints from glass. Students will learn the basics of intaglio vitreography, where they will use carborundum and rotary tools to carve into sheet glass for printing. They will then learn waterless lithography, where they will work on frosted sheet glass with water soluble materials and silicon in order to produce lithographic prints. It’s totally awesome printmaking that is new for A/P’s studio, and just seems so… cool and different!

This course is intended for printmakers with some prior knowledge of intaglio and/or lithographic printing, though no experience is required or necessary. All materials will be provided. Please bring sketches, images, or any preliminary materials that will help you develop your own prints during class time.

Dates: August 7 & 14, 2016, 10:00am – 3:00pm each day
