Crescent Heights Community Association is proud to present the third annual Crescent Moon Party & Lantern Parade. Date: February 1, 2020 Party: 7:00 – 9:00pm Lantern Parade: 8:30pm The event is supported by the Alberta Traffic Safety Fund and presented in partnership with CJSW Radio, Certus Developments Inc, Canadian Academy of Mask and Puppetry, Tigerstedt Flea Market, Inn from the Cold, Calgary Chinese Community Service Association 卡城華人社區服務中心, Wild Rose United Church, and Pulse Dance Studios. Volunteers Wanted Some of the positions needed are greeters, fire keepers, set up and takedown, parade safety, etc. There is an easy one to two-hour volunteer shift for you! About the 3rd Annual Crescent Moon Party & Lantern Parade The Crescent Moon Party celebrates the light at the end of a dark winter. Warm-up with music, fire pits, hot chocolate and your neighbours. This will also feature a lantern parade. The Lanterns were made over the course of January 2020 by local organizations in the community (Inn from the Cold, Calgary Chinese Community Service Association 卡城華人社區服務中心 – CCCSA and Wild Rose United Church) and facilitated by local puppet artist Elaine Weryshko from the Canadian Academy of Mask and Puppetry. The party and parade will bring awareness to nighttime pedestrian safety in our neighbourhood. Everyone is welcome to join the lantern parade. We recommend you dress up in bright costumes (not mandatory) and bring your own lights (also, not mandatory). Location: Starting and ending at the famous Tigerstedt Block Parking Lot (9th Ave. & Centre St.) Cost: Free All ages, family-friendly, pet-friendly, everyone is welcome. Costumes are welcomed.
