The Create Kids Festival is a not for profit organization currently looking for board members, committee members, and event volunteers to bring to life our May 2020 performing arts (and more) festival! Create Kids Fest began in 2019 when musician and arts educator, Mandy Morris, saw the need for an arts festival for families in Calgary. In its first year, Create presented almost 20 artists and arts organizations over three days in two different venues. In 2020 Create Kids Fest will take over Calgary the week of May 25 to 30, 2020 with performances across the city. This is a great opportunity for volunteers interested in providing feedback, influencing programming and policy, and innovating during our first year as a board putting on the Create Kids Fest. We are specifically looking for a treasurer, fundraising director, membership director, and many helping hands for our upcoming fundraiser and the festival itself. This is a performance arts festival and more! We are looking for creative and energetic individuals to be part of activating the city in both advisory and hands-on roles. Our Objectives: To create, develop and implement arts festivals for kids and families in Calgary. To ensure that the festivals and programs put on by Create allow children to experience the arts in a comfortable environment. Strive to provide art experiences that are accessible for all children in Calgary. To provide educational experiences for younger generations to learn about event production and art creation to develop a life-long appreciation of the arts. Develop opportunities for inter-generational community building, cultural awareness, and emotional intelligence through art experiences. Any interested volunteers can contact Alicia Ward at firstname.lastname@example.org with your area of interest, a brief bio, and your contact information.
