The Inkubator is an exciting new venture in Calgary—a multidisciplinary creative space in Northland Village Mall, in the Northwest area of the city which is opening on January 24, 2019. It is 3,500 square feet which will comprise a 200 person theatre, a robotics development area, a socialpreneurs’ work area and lounge, classroom and event spaces and an artist cooperative studio space and gallery. We will be inviting artists to join the cooperative, and fill up the gallery with their work as they join, but there’s a unique opportunity in the first three months as we are filling the cooperative—to display work from both established and emerging artists. If you are interested in selling your artwork in Calgary, please email email@example.com with a few images or a link to your artwork and indicate whether you are interested in exhibiting on commission for the next three months, or joining our cooperative to avoid paying commission. There’s no cost for displaying your work or hanging it, but there will be either a 25/75 commission split for the first three months, or volunteer hours required (if you choose to join our cooperative), and we also require you to paint a moulded torso form, either adult male or female, to be displayed at the inkUbator space and potentially either rented out or sold at auction. For more details, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with images and we will respond with the exhibition details or details about our artists’ cooperative. We will be accepting artwork until our display area is full. Artwork will be gently juried for professionalism. Preference will be given to unique ideas or execution. This is a public all-ages gallery space, and as such we reserve the right to not display art which may be publicly controversial. We also reserve the right to not hang all pieces of artwork initially and to fill spaces in the gallery as initial artwork is sold.
