Wheel Throwing Level 1

Sundays

Introduction to wheel throwing will include learning to wedge and centre clay, throw basic shapes and vessels, and learning glaze basics. Join this creative and supportive atmosphere as you learn these fun new skills.

Classes include one bag of clay, glazing and firing and 12 free practice hours. Additional work beyond the expected scope of the class is subject to additional firing fees.

Practice hours are one hour before and one hour after class. Students may stay beyond the allotted one hour after class provided members don’t need the facility (we’re easy going).

Anna-Lise Schmidt is a graduate of Emily Carr University and is currently living and working in Calgary teaching and producing ceramic art. Anna-Lise takes a comprehensive step by step approach to instruction. Introduction to wheel throwing will include learning to wedge and centre clay, throw basic shapes and vessels and learning glaze basics. Join this creative and supportive atmosphere as you learn these fun new skills.

Workshop is an open-access facility that houses creative studios and a ceramics facility. We offer individual studios, memberships to our ceramic studio as well as ceramic classes, workshops and events.

We occupy two bays in the historic Northwestern Brass Foundry building in Inglewood.
