Wish You Were Here
Wish You Were Here is a special event that will allow people from all over the world to participate in the construction of the Vital Lines tapestry. If you live far from the beautiful hills of the Leighton Art Centre, send us your wishes.
Vital Lines is a land-based installation conceived by Calgary francophone artists Sabine Lecorre-Moore and Patricia Lortie, who together form the artistic duo known as Conversation. They have designed this interactive installation specifically for the Leighton Art Centre landscape, creating an artwork that offers a receptive site where visitors can rest their dreams. The community is invited to contribute to the Vital Lines tapestry by weaving ribbons into the original structure. Not only will doing so pay homage to Barbara Leighton’s art practice, but it will also allow the artwork to evolve in form and meaning over its five-month lifespan.
On Sunday, August 18, 2019 Patricia and Sabine will inscribe a ribbon for you and weave it into the tapestry. If you do live in the area, please come by and help the artists to add the submitted wishes to the tapestry.

J’aimerais que vous soyez ici est un événement artistique organisé dans le but d’inviter le monde entier à participer à la fabrication de la tapisserie Vital Lines. Si vous êtes loin du beau pays vallonné où se situe le Leighton Art Centre, faites-nous parvenir votre souhait. Le dimanche 18 août, Patricia et Sabine l’inscriront sur un ruban qu’elles tisseront à même l’armature de la tapisserie. Si vous habitez dans la région, venez aider les artistes à intégrer les souhaits reçus et ajouter les vôtres dans l’ouvrage.
Vital Lines est une installation extérieure interactive créée par les artistes francophones de Calgary, Sabine Lecorre-Moore et Patricia Lortie, du duo Conversation. Spécifiquement conçue pour s’harmoniser avec le paysage autour du Leighton Art Centre, cette œuvre d’art offre un site accueillant où les visiteurs peuvent déposer leurs rêves. La communauté est invitée à contribuer à la tapisserie Vital Lines en tissant des rubans dans la structure de base. Cette initiative rend non seulement hommage à la pratique artistique de Barbara Leighton, mais permet également à l’œuvre d’évoluer au cours de ses cinq mois d’existence, autant dans sa forme que dans sa signification.
