Are you an accounting or finance professional with a love of the arts? Looking to utilize your skill set to give back to the community?

WP Puppet Theatre Society is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join our Board of Directors as treasurer!

Since 1991, we have been animating the spirit! For over twenty years we have been part of Calgary schools, theatres and community events nurturing the creativity of young and young at heart! Sharing our puppet expertise through professional development and celebrating the art of puppetry with thousands of audience members.

As treasurer, you will oversee our annual notice to the reader and internal financial review. You will review and report on our finances quarterly and assist with the budgeting process. We have a bookkeeper who looks after preparing financial statements. The treasurer role is one of oversight and advisory.

We have many exciting strategic initiatives on the go including the adoption of our new strategic direction at our upcoming AGM in September.

Our recent View from the Inside: Courage Journey is a puppetry-based workshop that encourages discussion about mental wellness recently won the ATB Healing through the Arts Award for its work and continues to gain momentum and interest from the public.

The Board of Directors meets approximately once every two months with summers off. Police background checks are required for volunteers who work directly with our clients.
