Living next to the river for a decade, I never paid much attention to it. It was something that was always there. In 2013 when we experienced significant flooding, I saw the river for the first time. It was no longer something that was beautiful to glance at, it was something that commanded respect. I grew obsessed with the river and its evolution from day to day, season to season.

I began exploring new materials and methods to create landscapes. The foundation of each piece is fine resin for its ability to retain fluid properties as a solid. Embedded river elements such as handcrafted rocks and ice floes anchor the work, while semitransparent layers and blended tints create depth and movement. These works bring natural experiences, that are often a short distance away, home.
