Peter Ivens
My recent work has led to a re-evaluation of painting and a more responsive attitude in making art. Balancing immediacy with deliberation, the new paintings are a search for a direct way of working in the now, finding meaning in discovery. The work is built without agenda and with a free response to the materials. To be inside the painting; to be organic in approach and to be present in the creation. The paintings are a record of these revelations.
