Suzirya Ukrainian Dance Theatre
Founded in 2004, under the direction of Serguei Makarov, a group of passionate and professionally trained dancers came together to form Suzirya Ukrainian Dance Theatre.
Suzirya, meaning a constellation of many stars, is founded on the eloquent fusion of ballet and traditional folk dance.
Promoting Ukrainian culture throughout the city of Calgary has always been a prime focus for Suzirya. Performances for the Ukrainian community, city events, and private functions has made it possible for Suzirya to continue to share their passion for Ukrainian culture, through dance, one step at a time.
