A beautiful production and the end of an era, join Vertigo Theatre’s Y Stage Theatre Series as it concludes its final season with this award-winning production.

Produced by The Last Great Hunt from Perth, Australia and created by Tim Watts, The Adventures of Alvin Sputnik: Deep Sea Explorer is a tiny tale set in the deepest dark blue sea. It follows a solitary explorer with a heart as big as a whale as he searches for his lost love in the seemingly endless depths of the ocean.

“This is one of my all-time favourite theatre productions,” says Y Stage Artistic Producer Nathan Pronyshyn, in a statement. “While I will be sad to see the Y Stage Series come to a close after 14 years, I couldn’t think of a more beautiful and moving final show.”

A highly imaginative fusion of animation, puppetry, projections, as well as live and recorded music, this multi award-winning piece has been called heartwarming theatrical magic and a stunning one-man micro-epic.

The Adventures of Alvin Sputnik: Deep Sea Explorer runs April 21 to 23, 2017 in the Playhouse at Vertigo Theatre (161, 115 9th Ave. SE) and is recommended for ages 10 and up.
