Formerly the $100 Film Festival, this is Calgary’s only celluloid-based festival offering. An international celebration of creative storytelling, the 27th annual Artifact Small Format Film Festival returns.

Presented by the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers, Artifact is the longest-running film festival in Calgary, and one of the only ones in the world to exclusively screen Super 8 and 16mm short films. This year you can catch screenings of works by Canadian and international filmmakers, live musical performances, and a talk and workshop by visiting artist, Toronto-based filmmaker and scholar Izabella Pruska-Oldenhof.

The Artifact Small Format Film Festival runs March 7 to 9, 2019 with screenings at The GRAND (608 1st St. SW). Visit for the full schedule.
