A concert featuring works inspired by the world of literature, join Kensington Sinfonia to explore instrumental music’s connection to words and text.

Featuring works by legendary composer, poet, and saint Hildegard von Bingen, the program includes Canadian composer and music educator Jean Coulthard’s Essays for Octet and English composer Frank Bridge’s Novelletten. You can even hear Czech composer Leoš Janáček’s String Quartet No. 1—a piece inspired by Tolstoy’s short story The Kreutzer Sonata.

Don’t miss your chance to hear these spectacular pieces in a relaxed and intimate environment.

Catch Beauty of the Word at 3:00pm on February 23, 2020 at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church (1121 14th Ave. SW).
