Part of the quartet’s mandate to award the position to an advanced University of Calgary violin student, Rena Far makes her debut as second violin alongside Edmond Agopian, Dean O’Brien, and Beth Root Sandvoss. The evening is rounded out with works from Canadian composer and UCalgary alumnus, George Fenwick, and Finland’s most celebrated composer, Jean Sibelius.
