Continuing its homage to Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, the UCalgary String Quartet adds a new second violin for the first concert of the season.

Part of the quartet’s mandate to award the position to an advanced University of Calgary violin student, Rena Far makes her debut as second violin alongside Edmond Agopian, Dean O’Brien, and Beth Root Sandvoss. The evening is rounded out with works from Canadian composer and UCalgary alumnus, George Fenwick, and Finland’s most celebrated composer, Jean Sibelius.

Catch A Celebration of Bartok III at 8:00pm on December 7, 2017 at the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall, Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary (206 University Court NW).
