ProArts@Noon Presents Brian Buchanan

Pianist Brian Buchanan continues to earn respect as a Canadian jazz artist and has shared the stage with numerous legends including Clark Terry, Herb Ellis, Chet Baker, and Mark Murphy. See him perform at this free lunch hour concert presented in partnership with JazzYYC and Calgary’s International Jazz Days.

Writing in the Works

Mixed Bag Art Opening

POW! Parade of Wonders

A cosplay parade celebrating pop culture and creativity in Calgary’s downtown, it’s also the official kick off to the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo. It’s free to participate, but to walk in the parade you must be decked out. This year, over 2,000 cosplayers are expected to take part alongside special Calgary Expo guests. Don’t have time to get a costume together? Cheer on from the sidelines at this family-friendly affair.

The Weight & The Weeping Opening Reception

Marking its second solo exhibition of Marigold Santos’ work, head to Jarvis Hall Gallery to see this continuation of an exploration into notions of selfhood and identity that embraces multiplicity, fragmentation and empowerment, as informed by experiences of movement and migration.

Bow Valley Calligraphy Guild Show

The Bow Valley Calligraphy Guild features work in calligraphy and hand lettering. A wine and cheese reception takes place from 7:00 to 9:00pm on April 27 followed by a show and sale from 10:00 to 4:00pm on April 28.
