It’s a new month and there’s certainly a nip in the air, but that’s not going to stop all the great, free arts programming. This week you can check out a classical sitar concert, film screenings and more. Here’s what we’re checking out:

ProArts@Noon Presents Ayush Ghosh

Born in 2000, Ayush Ghosh started learning sitar at the age of five. Proclaimed as a child prodigy, he currently trains under illustrious Guru Pandit Sanjoy Bandopadhyay. Ghosh is also known as the youngest well known sitar player in the world and you can hear him perform for free at this lunch hour concert.

The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers and Herland are thrilled to present a screening and reception for their recent Herland Video Production Mentorship for Women. Throughout the summer, five filmmakers attended development, directing and technical workshops and received mentorship guidance from award winning filmmakers Eva Colmers and Sandi Somers. Now, the Herland participants will share their diverse, innovative perspectives at this public premiere.
