Get ready to meet Calgary’s next improv stars as the Loose Moose plays host to the 2017 High School Theatre Sports Competition.

The four night improv tournament features eight teams from Calgary high schools competing in a round robin with the top scoring teams performing for the final match on Friday.

See teams from Dr. EP Scarlett, Notre Dame, St. Francis, St. Mary’s, Bishop Caroll, Central Memorial, and St. Ambrose compete. There’s even a Loose Moose House team made up of students from around that city who actively participate in the company’s high school training program. The 2017 tournament is co-produced by Andrew Phung, Ali Froggatt, Anyssa McKee, and Alexa Mackell—all tournament alumni who are now regular senior players at the theatre.

“The High School Theatre sports tournament gave me my first taste of comedy and theatre. It has forever changed my life and I wouldn’t be who I am without my experience playing at the Moose,” says Phung in a statement.

The 2017 High School Theatre Sports Competition runs February 28 to March 3, 2017 at the Loose Moose Theatre (1235 26th Ave. SE).
