Audience friendly songs and a playful lineup is exactly what you’re going to hear at the University of Calgary’s next concert.

Part of its alumni and friends series, The School of Creative and Performing Arts presents this lively chamber music concert with soprano Jane Leibel, pianist Maureen Volk and clarinetist Christine Carter.

The evening focuses on works and arrangements by beloved Canadian composers, such as James Duff, John Greer, Clifford Crawley and Donald F. Cook. Also included are the madcap fun of A Little Light Music by Seymour Barab, Leonard Bernstein’s first published piece, Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, and the sultry tunes of Viva Gershwin.

A Little Light Music takes place at 8:00pm on October 1, 2016 at the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall, Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary (206 University Court NW).
