A humorous and touching story, Fire Exit Theatre tackles Daniel McIver’s Governor General’s Award-nominated play for its second show of the season.

In Marion Bridge, three women in their thirties return to Cape Breton to be with their dying mother. Dealing with the painful loneliness of each of their lives, they must learn to embrace what holds them together and let go of what tears them apart.

“If you come from a family, you’ll love this show,” says Artistic Director Val Lieske, in a statement. “Like any family, this one is complicated, messy, hilarious, and full of love. Daniel McIver really writes beautiful women.”

Directed by Heather Laubenstein, the production features Melissa Matheson, Krista Marushy, and Joy Robinson.

Marion Bridge runs January 31 to February 4, 2018 at the Engineered Air Theatre, Arts Commons (234 9th Ave. SE).
