In 1997, Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers acquired a library of over 2,500 16mm films from the Calgary Public Library and regularly screen them for the public. But there’s a catch—each time the film is kept a secret until the credits roll.

Including cult classics, animations, shorts, and documentaries, once every month, a local Calgary curator is asked to choose a film to screen but due to copyright reasons, the title cannot be disclosed in advance. Always a great time, Secret Cinema returns with this month’s film picked by CSIF’s new Programming & Communications Director Raeesa Farooqi.

May Secret Cinema takes place at 8:00pm on May 18, 2017 at CSIF’s screening room (100, 1725 10th Ave. SW). Admission is by donation and space is limited, so make sure you reserve your spot at
