Sharing the evening with David P. Smith who is on tour from Victoria with New Blues, French celebrates her new album with this Calgary CD Release concert. Fronted and directed by French, Miss Scarlett & the Madmen is a musical collective featuring a rotating cast, bringing new instrumentations and arrangements to this collection of songs at each live show. Dark Love Songs features many co-writers and musicians, as well as Victor DeLorenzo of the Violent Femmes on drums. The album evolved from series of Wisconsin songwriting intensives French took part in over the past four years. Each CD has even been hand-scented with rose oil and contains a unique insert and piece of ephemera. Danielle French Presents: Miss Scarlett & the Madmen – Dark Love Songs gets its official Calgary release at 8:00pm on November 17, 2016 at Wine-Ohs (811 1st St. SW). Tickets available at the door.
