Featuring Charlie Chaplin’s wondrous 1936 Modern Times, head to Lougheed House to catch this special screening in the warmth of a Victorian mansion.

Complementing its current Art Deco exhibition, The Future Looked Bright: Art Deco in Everyday Life, this brilliant pantomime has fun with the fears of industrialization and job displacement so common in the era. It is also the moment and movie of Charlie Chaplin’s political awakening and his concerns about fascism, later explored fully in The Great Dictator.

Swing by early for a scavenger hunt that leads guests through the house where participants can win classic 1930 snacks to enjoy during the film.

Catch the Modern Times screening at 7:00pm on April 5, 2018 at Lougheed House (707 13th Ave. SW).
