Get ready to ring in 2020 with these awesome New Year’s Eve celebrations—it’s the start of a new decade!

With family-friendly offerings from The City of Calgary and the Calgary Public Library to live music and a comic murder mystery, there’s something for everyone.

New Year’s Eve Celebrations

The City of Calgary caps off the year with a day of free music, live performances, activities for all ages, and, of course, fireworks. From the outdoor skating and music at Olympic Plaza to Christmas lights, fire pits, and extended hours at Bowness Park, it all wraps with a fireworks display at midnight from the Calgary Tower.

New Year’s Eve at the Library

A year this good deserves an even better send off! Explore everything the library has to offer with a free tour, pop-up performances, and a family fun dance party. You can even ring in the roaring new decade with an early afternoon countdown for families and kids.

Village Square Leisure Centre New Year’s Eve Family Event

Celebrate with the family and play, swim, jump, splash, and slide into 2020. Look for arts and crafts, games, obstacle courses, a bouncy house, and a pool party countdown.

Happy Hour with Matt Masters

Say so long to 2019 with local favourite Western swing king, Matt Masters. An Alberta country and folk musician, Masters has a 19-year history of performance across Calgary and around the world. There’s no cover but bring some cash—the hat will be passed around, Nashville style.

New Year’s Eve Family Bash

Celebrate the new year with the whole family and Scotiabank Backbeat! Enjoy a family-friendly games room, get groovy with a family sing-a-long, and create a festive noisemaker to help you ring in 2020 at the 8:00pm countdown.
