So you’ve swung by and checked out this year’s Calgary Fringe Festival. Maybe you squeezed in a show or two. Maybe you’ve been to a dozen. But, might we make a quick recommendation for those 18 and older?

NOTORIOUS is back and throwing a little party for the Fringe. In fact, it’s the official home of the YYC Fringe 10th Anniversary Party and everyone is invited, July 29 to August 6, 2016.

The beer garden gives Fringe patrons a chance to have a drink, grab some food and witness Paper Rappers, a brand new comedy show from NOTORIOUS.

Combining freestyle rap with high-energy improv comedy with troupes in Calgary and Toronto, they come together once a year to create brand new, never before seen hip hop and comedy.

Paper Rappers is about a fresh start for NOTORIOUS,” Mat Mailandt, NOTORIOUS Producer, in a statement. “Over the last three years we’ve toured North America with our flagship show. It’s been amazing ride. But for this Fringe we wanted to challenge ourselves and put the audience in the producer’s chair. They will create the rappers and effectively choose the style of rap they want to hear. Paper Rappers means you get the show your way, every time. We’re very excited.”

A NOTORIOUS Beer Garden opens nightly from 5:00 to 11:00pm at the Fringe, July 26 to August 6, 2016, and the schedule can be found online at notimprov.com. Venue is 18+ with free admission to the beer garden. Tickets for the performances are $14 with your Fringe button.
