From its roots as a one-day film festival hosted by University of Calgary’s Dedicated Otaku Anime Club, Otafest has grown to be Calgary’s longest-running Japanese pop culture festival and features a 47,000-sq.-ft. marketplace and art exhibition as well as 24-hour programming. Otafest runs June 30 to July 2, 2017 at the TELUS Convention Centre (120 9th Ave. SE).
