Bound to get the Bella hopping, the Pedrito Martinez Group comes to Calgary this April as part of the Travelers Series presented by MRU Conservatory. Born in Havana, Cuba, Pedro Pablo “Pedrito” Martinez is known as consummate master of Afro-Cuban folkloric music and plays the complex Oru seco exquisitely.

The world’s first-call rumbero, Martinez has recorded and performed with Wynton Marsalis, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Bruno Mars, Lada Gaga, and more. Habana Dreams, PMG’s second album, was featured as the top Latin Jazz Album in NPR’s Jazz Critics Top Jazz Albums for 2016.

Catch the Pedrito Martinez Group at 7:30pm on April 22, 2017 at the Bella Concert Hall, Mount Royal University Conservatory (4825 Mount Royal Gate SW).
