Not your standard jukebox musical, Stage West goes hard for its production of Rock of Ages with a killer cast and memorable songs. At one of the Sunset Strip’s last legendary venues we meet Drew (played by Scott Beaudin)—an aspiring rock star and resident toilet cleaner who longs to take the stage as the next big thing. But when small-town girl Sherri (played by Sarah Horsman) turns up, his heart and musical career go on a wild ride. Throw in a motley crew of protesters, rockers, strippers, and the legendary Stacee Jaxx (played by Cary Shields), Rock of Ages is a throwback to the hard rock era. Featuring a soundtrack of 80s classics from REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Styx, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, and many more, the production offers a polished, but still slightly seedy, night out.
