Sure to have you on the edge of your seat, you won’t want to miss this one. A fateful encounter takes place between two strangers in the dining carriage of a train. Guy is a successful architect with a nagging jealousy while Charles is a cold, calculating opportunist with a dark secret. Together, the two hatch a daring and dangerous plan setting in motion a chain of events that will change the two men’s lives forever. “Craig Warner’s outstanding adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel is one of the most accomplished genre adaptations that I have come across,” says Vertigo Theatre’s Artistic Director, Craig Hall, in a statement. “Despite the necessary chopping and channeling that is required when bringing a book to the stage, Warner has managed to preserve all of the creeping menace that makes the novel so gripping.” The production marks the second time Vertigo Theatre has staged Strangers on a Train and sees an all-star cast including Stafford Perry, Nathan Kay, Denise Clark, Chantelle Han, and Michael Tan. Strangers on a Train runs September 14 to October 13, 2019 at The Playhouse at Vertigo Theatre (161, 115 9th Ave. SE). Previews take place September 14 to 18 with the official opening on September 19. Tickets start at $29.
