Celebrate the grand opening of Calgary’s newest performance and art space, Theatre 1308, with eight days of music, improv, film, philosophy, poetry, and stand-up comedy. Don’t miss the inaugural Bright Side Festival.

Theatre 1308 is Calgary’s newest performance and art space. Located near the downtown core on Edmonton Trail, be sure to swing by to get to know the space better and see incredible acts including the Marc Atkinson Trio with Cameron Wilson on February 23, HYMN on February 24, The Kinkonauts on February 28, and Matt Falk on March 2.

The festival also includes a screening of the Calgary-made short film Gross Indecency: The Everett Klippert Story followed by the acclaimed 2018 documentary about the life and legacy of Fred Rogers, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

There’s even a philosophers’ cafe with Dr. Tinu Ruparell, Dr. David Dick, and Dr. Chris Framarin and a poetry slam featuring Calgary Poet Laureate, Sheri-D Wilson.

The Bright Side Festival runs February 23 to March 2, 2019 at Theatre 1308 (1308 Edmonton Tr. NE). Head to theatre1308.com for the full schedule.
