Bill’s Book Café is not your mother’s book club and Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel is the centre of a lively discussion this January.

Join Calgary Public Library CEO, Bill Ptacek, and Wordfest General Director, Shelley Youngblut as they dive into The Handmaid’s Tale. Read the book and come prepared for a rich and engaging conversation about the prescience of Atwood’s dystopian novel in a post-Trump world.

At each edition of the series, Ptacek teams up with a local luminary to delve deep into a good book and this edition is held in Wordfest’s new Memorial Park Library programming space. It marks the first of many upcoming collaborations between the library and Wordfest.

The Handmaid’s Tale: Bill’s Book Café with Shelley Youngblut takes place at 7:00pm on January 13, 2017 at the Memorial Park Library (1221 2nd St. SW). This is a free event but an RSVP is required.
