The winner of a special Palme d’Or award at the Cannes Film Festival, Jean-Luc Godard’s The Image Book uses altered and colour saturated film and media images to lay out a social commentary on modern media.

A montage of digitally altered, color-saturated, and intercut archival footage that shares an encyclopedic grasp of cinema and its history, join Calgary Cinematheque for its next Contemporary World Cinema screening.

The Image Book screens at 7:00pm on January 31, 2019 at the Globe Cinema (617 8th Ave. SW). Advance tickets and memberships can be found at calgarycinema.org.
