Calgary’s Jazz Day celebration is one of the largest in the world and you can take in events all around the city. Your best bet is to head to the Music Mile—full of free events from 12:00 to 9:00pm, head to the launch to hear the JazzYYC Youth Lab Band and witness the presentation of the first annual Keith Smith Memorial Scholarship. It all wraps with the JazzYYC International Jazz Day Concert and Open House from 6:00 to 9:00pm at the King Edward Hotel, National Music Centre (438 9th Ave. SE).
