While installing the Cupola module, Virts was granted an unprecedented 360-degree view from the station and captured more photographs than any astronaut who came before him. While many were used in the National Geographic book View From Above and IMAX film A Beautiful Planet, Virts believes no photo can capture the perfect shade of blue from a sunrise viewed from outer space. Continuing National Geographic Live’s season, Arts Commons presents this conversation about Virts’ experience and time in the cosmos from the man himself. Arts Commons Presents National Geographic Live View from Above on January 21 and 22, 2018 at the Jack Singer Concert Hall, Arts Commons (205 8th Ave. SE).
