Since 2012, Foggo and singer-songwriter Miranda Martini have collaborated multiple times on incarnations of Foggo’s play, John Ware Reimagined. It’s a story that reflects on Foggo’s own journey of growing up black in a cowboy-obsessed city and interweaves it with the powerful, myth-shattering journey of John Ware. Listen in as the mother and daughter creative team share readings and original music from the play and chat about the process that shaped the work. We Were Here – John Ware Reimagined takes place at 1:00pm on February 9, 2019 at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre (850 4th St. SE) and is included with admission. Can’t make it? This event will be livestreamed to the National Music Centre’s Facebook page.
