The Calgary Bach Society’s survey of J.S. Bach’s motets continues with this performance of the challenging Motets No. 2 and No. 5 for eight-part choir. It also features Claire Freer, winner of the 2016 Bach Vocal Scholarship, performing a set of Bach arias, and a selection of sacred hymns and anthems by English Baroque composer Henry Purcell.

Specializing in the music of Baroque composers such as Bach, Handel, Vivaldi and beyond, the society presents choir and orchestra concerts twice yearly with Artistic Director Terry Edwards.

Divine Hymns takes place at 3:00pm on November 20, 2016 at Knox United Church (506 4th St. SW). Cash donations to the Calgary Food Bank will be gratefully accepted at the door.

Enter before noon on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 for your chance to win a pair of tickets.
