Featuring Calgary’s original string ensemble, Kensington Sinfonia is joined by the talented young students of Amici String Program to explore folk music seen through a classical lens.

This afternoon of music includes Antonín Dvořák incorporating Bohemian folk idioms into his String Serenade, Sir Ernest MacMillan honouring French Canadian traditional music, and American Steven Snowden’s take on Appalachian folk.

Full of joyful music presented with the inspiring energy of the future stars of Calgary’s classical scene, this concert is the perfect remedy for the mid-winter blues.

The concert takes place at 3:00pm on February 3, 2019 at Hope Lutheran Church (3527 Boulton Road NW).

Enter before noon on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 for your chance to win a pair of tickets.
